Bateson's Quiz 21st November 2014
(November 25, 2014)A chilly November Friday evening found us all in the cosy village hall, the warm heaters keeping us toasty warm and the lights dimmed. Here we all are, sleepy and fuzzy brained after a week at work, arranged at the tables in teams of friends and neighbours, bottles of wine, crisps and cheese to nibble. No dozing at the table for us! Quiz Master John Bateson entertained us with his excellent questions that kept us on our toes with cleverly themed rounds of questions ranging from sex, drugs, rock, roll, soldier, sailor, rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief.
Hungry to see our team achieve academic glory we sucked our pencils and scratched our heads. Best of all though was a pleasant evening spent with friends, a great fun way to start the weekend. I also now know that if I want to buy Fig Rolls in the US I need to ask for Fig Newtons!
